Review of ToSave.com

I recently received a package from the website ToSave.com and wanted to review the items I got in the mail!

ToSave.com offers inexpensive fashion, beauty, and electronic items for any need. The company is based out of China, and the website is set up very similar to Amazon. When I first looked at the items, they all had Pinterest images to represent each piece, which seemed promising. The styles were cute, and I was curious to see how the items looked.

Casual Stripe Off-The-Shoulder Shirt

One Piece Bandage Push-Up

Sexy Women’s Lace Top

A month went by, and I finally received my package! The items looked identical to the pictures on the website, but with some differences. The quality and fabric was slightly less than what I was expecting. The burgundy swimsuit is very thin, and also is not made up of a material that would be waterproof . It also claimed to be push-up, but there is no padding. In addition, I was so sad that none of the pieces fit me properly.  I ordered a large in all the pieces, because of the fit and look, but they ended up not fitting like a normal large usually would. The swimsuit did not go far enough up my torso to cover my chest, and the off the shoulder shirt did not look properly sewn to be an off the shoulder shirt. The white lace top is the one piece that worked out perfectly, and looks perfect with some ripped denim.

I was really excited to try out these items, but wish they worked better for me. Their pieces are adorable, but just beware that some of the sizes are unpredictable and may not fit properly.

Summer Trends 2017

The summer is almost upon us, and it is time to look forward to what this year’s trends will be. The best thing about summer is that it is a time to be outdoors and show off. Whether you are on the beach, looking for an evening outfit or wondering what style of footwear to get, we are going to look at the upcoming trends of summer 2017 that you should definitely be following.

Bralettes

This summer is all about having the confidence to be you. Bralettes are this year’s latest trend that will takes clothes traditionally seen as an undergarment and worn proudly as an outer garment. This style can be worn on its own or revealed under a shirt or jacket. The most popular look for the bralette will be a multitude of straps that curve around the body. Some fashion labels even recommend wearing them over shirts.

Deconstructed Shirting

Speaking of shirts, it appears that a trend that began in New York will become one of this year’s most popular looks. The look can be achieved now by taking a large shirt and doing the buttons up in the wrong order to create a disheveled one-shoulder look. If you have more patience you can buy specially made deconstructed shirts from fashion’s biggest names this summer.

Seaside Stripes

Fashion guru Elle put seaside stripes as the number one fashion trend for this summer. The site claims that the patterns often found on beach umbrellas and lounge chairs will now be worn as a symbol that summer has truly begun.

The Retro Look

According to Who What Wear the 80s are coming back this year and in a big way. Outfits with big bold colors and strong shoulders are the way forward for evening attire. The fashion site states: “there’s much to play with, from silhouette-enhancing nipped waists fastened with giant belts to flirty hemlines balanced out by big shoulders.” Of course the 80s have never really gone away, and popular culture today still celebrates the look and feel of the decade. From the popular TV series Stranger Things to slot gaming site Slingo who give their players a blast from the past through Disco Spins, it looks like the 80s and its fashion trends aren’t going to fade away anytime soon. So by looking back to the past this summer, you will be ahead in the fashion stakes.

Kitten Heels

Vogue Magazine believes that these heels will be this year’s most sought after footwear. According to the Vogue columnist, they are very popular with the French street style set. The heel lends an elegant edge to a number of different shoe styles that will allow wearers to match them with many types of outfits.

So there you have it, our summer trends to look out for this summer. By following these trends you will standout as the fashion connoisseur we know that you are. Roll on summer 2017!

Back To School, Back To The Backpack

Back to school is here! And although I am bittersweet and anxious about the new academic year to start, it is time to face reality and plan this year’s series of fashionable weeks!

Since fall doesn’t officially arrive until the end of September, we will still be forced to wear cooler clothes for the classroom heat. But that’s not a problem! We can still look back to school ready, while keeping up with the summer weather.

For the first day and first few weeks, a simple striped tee and shorts are a must. You can spruce it up with your favorite adidas, converse, hair and new backpack. My small black bag is perfect for any necessary school items. The long straps allow for shoulder comfort and the distressed material adds a vintage style! I got mine at Marshalls, but there are similar ones here and here.

Whatever your back to school look may be, have an excellent beginning of the year!

Labor Day = Last Beach Day With My Fave Ray-Bans

Labor Day is the last weekend of the summer where you can hit the beach or have a barbecue with family and friends. Nothing beats the warm, bright sun and crisp early fall breeze like my favorite pair of Ray-Bans.

My blue Ray-Ban Aviator Flash Lenses are the perfect accessory for the end of summer labor day fun, all the way into fall and winter. The lenses are perfectly polarized to block out the sun’s rays, while adding a pop of color to a whole look.

For the beach, I like to pair these, or my classic aviators, with a simple bikini and coverup. When fall comes, I cannot wait to wear these apple picking with a big burgundy sweater, leggings, even jeans and a flannel. Pair the whole look with some perfect waves and easy makeup, and you have the best look around.

These glasses are pricey, and although worth it, can break the bank. There are several other inexpensive options here and here.

Montreal Travel Diary: Makeup Essentials

I recently went to Montreal for two days and had an amazing time! Packing seemed to be easy; bring some shorts, leggings, dress, converse etc. But when it comes to my makeup, narrowing down the items I bring can be tricky. However, figuring out your daily essentials makes picking items extremely easy. Here is exactly what I packed!

The key to packing makeup and other beauty essentials is finding the right bag to pack the items in. Target carries the Sonia Kashuk collection that has a variety of styles, sizes, patterns, and compartments. I typically only bring one primer and foundation, along with a basic tinted moisturizer. I also carry my favorite concealer to highlight and spot conceal, as well as pack two setting powders. The Benefit Hoola Bronzer is my new must have product. It warms up the skin and perfectly contours the cheek bones. I brought two blushes in different tones to spice up any look. I kept the eyes very minimal with one palette that also contains cheeks and a highlight. The hardest part is limiting the lip colors. Unless I plan on doing a specific look, I will bring mainly nude toned liquid lips and glosses, two max. Below are the links to the products I used.

Primer: Makeup Forever Step One Smoothing Primer

Foundation: Too Faced Born This Way

Concealer: Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Powder: Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder; Makeup Forever HD Powder

Bronzer: Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Blush: Tarte 12-Hour Blush; Nars Blush in Dolce Vita

Highlight: MAC Soft and Gentle; Becca Champagne Pop

Eyeshadow: Tarte Swamp Queen Palette

Mascara: MAC False Lashes Mascara; L’Oreal Telescopic

Lips: Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint

Below are other travel makeup inspiration for your next trip!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Buys

The #NSale is back and better than ever! It’s the time of year where lovers of fashion and all things Nordstrom can get a peek into fall’s must haves and purchase it at some of the best prices around. Brands like Tory Burch, Sam Edelman, Touche, Astr, BP and more are on sale for great amazing prices.

The sale opened to the public Friday July 22nd, and I ran to my closest Nordstrom at 10 am to get everything that I was eyeing and more. I purchased quite a few fall staples that I will definitely be sporting on the cooler days of fall and winter. All products are listed with links to the website. The only thing not on sale I purchased was the Articles of Society denim. But for $64, I thought these were a steal considering other denim in the store were over $100 on sale. I’m also picky with jeans, so when I tried these on and fell in love, I knew I needed to grab them!

Halogen ‘Owen Pointy Toe Ghillie Flat

BP Ribbed Moto Leggings

Articles of Society ‘Sarah’ Skinny Jeans (Loma Vista)

BP Gray Sweater (Similar)

The sale ends August 8th. Prices will go back up to their normal retail range and will stay until they go on sale. Don’t wait until then! Go online today or in store and check out the pieces a part of the #NSale!

I have also been informed that some pieces that have sold out in the sale have been restocked, so definitely stay tuned and keep checking in.

Bodycons and Curves

I have recently been obsessed with the look of tight dresses and a curvy body. I’m not talking about the tacky bandage dresses that are short and show too much. I am talking about the sleek, midi-dress style bodycons that have been hitting Instagram and Twitter with a beat face and sexy shoes.

Being on the curvier side myself, nothing is hotter than showing off your butt and hips in a curve hugging (and covering) dress. It’s classy, yet shows just enough that it leaves a little to the imagination. They come in a number of sleeve options and can be bought with a plunging neckline or one that’s a bit more conservative.

I have recently been obsessed with the selection of these dresses in Nordstrom. With their recent anniversary sale, I am sure the selection for fall colors and styles are in abundance and at amazing prices. The two I have in stock in my closet are black and olive green. They are very plain but have little detail here and there such as cinching at the hip or a defined waist line. I like how they are muted neutrals that can be transitioned to any season. I also recommend owning gray, a light blush pink, and even a nude or tan tone. That way they are versatile for every season, and you can change it up by adding a sleeveless trench vest, leather jacket, or even short boots.
