Fall is one of my favorite times of year and what a better way to spend it than in New York City. Below is a recap of last weekend and outfit details!
The main reason I was in NYC was for the Bite Beauty Lip Lab. My mom and I had an appointment to make our very own Bite Beauty lipstick. It was such a cool experience, and I recommend it to any makeup lover or anyone looking for a custom lip color. I of course chose a nude shade, but got to try and leave with a neon purple one!
It wouldn’t be a trip to NYC if I didn’t eat… a lot! I ate so good this trip, but nothing was better than visiting Laduree for the first time. The brunch was amazing and the macarons were so magical. I need to go back asap! I am still dreaming of the rose croissant I enjoyed.
My family and I spent our time mainly in the Soho area, which is definitely the spot to be. We used to always visit Times Square, but after a while, I just couldn’t stand the crazy crowds. The streets were mainly residential with plenty of shopping and cafes.
Now to the favorite part… my outfit!
I have such an obsession with these hats! I call them train conductor hats, but they are more formally known as baker boy hats. The one I am wearing is from Nordstrom Rack and was such a steal for only $12.95! I paired it will a plain cotton long sleeve, high-waisted Topshop boyfriend jeans, white Adidas, a tan cardigan over the shoulder, and my Rebecca Minkoff crossbody. Outfit links are below!

I cannot wait to plan my next weekend getaway and share it with you!
As I’ve gotten older, I love going on weekend getaways! Last weekend, I took a trip with my love to New York City! As usual, we saw plenty of sites, ate a lot of incredible food, and shopped (just a little)!
I had a list of things I was dying to do and see! Our first day, we arrived to extremely wet and windy weather. We pretty much just grabbed lunch and dinner and called it a day! If ever you are in the mood for some yummy deep dish pizza, Emmett’s is the place to go! Bill found it because he loves deep dish! The restaurant was small, cozy, and clearly a spot a lot of locals go to! It was a great way to begin the weekend!
On Saturday, the sun was shining, and I couldn’t have been happier! We walked over to Central Park where we had brunch at Tavern on the Green! The food was SO good, not to mention the restaurant was quaint and lovely. After, we enjoyed the Central Park Zoo, which is probably by far my favorite zoo! We continued to walk around the city some more, and of course, whenever I am there, I always need to stop in Topshop. But the highlight was definitely going to Magnolia Bakery by Rockefeller Center. I had been following them forever on Instagram and knew this was a stop that needed to happen. We tried their banana pudding, and it was life changing.
That night, we went to dinner with my uncle and walked around Times Square. This was definitely one of my favorite NYC trips! When we left, I immediately felt the need to go back. And trust me, I am already planning the next weekend there!
For those asking about my pink hat that I wore during the trip, it is from H&M. I’d been looking for that style for a while, but was not a fan of how most of them looked on me. Once I found this one, I knew it was meant to be. You can find a similar one here!
I had a blast in NYC over the weekend for Beautycon, and of course did not forget that a new blog post was very necessary! Saturday night turned out to be beautiful and great for a lovely dinner out! My initial thoughts were what outfit will I wear? Being in the big apple, my New York state of mind kicked in, and I knew exactly what to wear!
I paired an adorable open back floral blouse with bold and vibrant colors with my favorite black pants. I wore these in a lot of my winter blog posts, but I found that they work great on warmer nights too! They are high waisted and are not as heavy as normal dress pants are! I threw on some sandals that I brought and added a leather jacket just in case it became a bit chilly. My hair was already curled from Beautycon that day, but I touched up my makeup and added a nude gloss and some pretty lilac/nude eyeshadow!
This look is lovely! It fit the night perfectly and the urban, city feel! Lose the jacket, add a pair of heels, and it could work for another night out! Switch the jacket, and you can make it more formal with a blazer! Dress it up or down!
Try this look for the warmer summer nights that will hopefully be approaching! You will look drop dead gorgeous! Until next time!

This weekend was full of fun and surprises at Beautycon NYC! I had an absolute blast meeting my fave Youtube beauty gurus and seeing so many different vendors! Walking in, I was able to see the beautiful Whitney Port! Being so starstruck I could not believe it! She is even more tall and gorgeous in person! Inside, Tarte, Bare Minerals, American Apparel, and more had booths set up! Most of the products were discounted, which made me splurge!
I still cannot believe I met some of my fave gals including Carli Bybel and Meg of ciaobellaxo! Definitely check out their youtube channels!
This weekend taught me that being a fashion and beauty blogger is truly my passion, and I am so so blessed to be able to do it and have the support of all of you who read and keep up to date with it all! Hopefully a Youtube channel will be in my future, but for now always keep up to date with me at Navy and Lace! I could not be more humble and thankful for the fantastic experience I had this weekend!! Below are some pics of the weekend! Enjoy!
