The Turtleneck and Moto Leggings That Will Save Your Cold Day

When the weekend hit with a 29 degree temperature and a wind that was cold enough to cut through your skin, I knew it was about time to break out my trusty turtleneck collection. But on a day spent holiday shopping and bracing the cold, I knew I also needed a trusty pair of leggings to ease my flexibility.

My turtleneck is from Primark, which for all my fellow Massachusetts folks, are located in Boston and the Burlington Mall. My leggings are a worn black pair of moto leggings from Nordstrom with ribbed detail-in the thigh and calf. Shoes are from Steve Madden and are my favorite (and the comfiest).

On a day like today, this was a perfect outfit. It was easy and a great way to layer a scarf, heavy jacket, even another sweater, while trying to welcome the cold with open arms!

First Day!

It has been weeks since I have done a blog, but I am finally back to do more! I have been getting settled into a new environment and am so so happy! First day of classes or work is very important, so it is important to dress the part too! Below is my outfit of the day!

I wanted a casual, yet cute look with a touch of sparkle. I am wearing a chambray shirt from Jcrew (Similar) with a pair of jean cut off shorts (Similar). I added a sparkly head band, some flat sandals, and my new Tory Burch bag.

This look is so comfy and cute for a day at class or out! For work, I would recommend pairing the blouse with a pair of dress pants or a pencil skirt!

Enjoy your first days of class, school, or work! Remember to feel confident in whatever you wear!

Moments of Spring

Today felt like spring! The sun was shining, the weather was above 40 degrees, the birds were chirping, and the air smelled of fresh flowers. I was so excited to spend the day out and about, ready to enjoy a day without snow! My first instinct was that I had to choose an outfit appropriate for the lovely day!

I wanted to go jacketless today, so since there was still a cool breeze, I decided to still layer a bit! I lightly layered a black 3/4 sleeve sweater with a sleeveless collared floral blouse! I was able to feel semi springy with my floral top, but still warm with the black sweater! I threw on a pair of dark skinnies, some flats, and curled my long locks to complete the look of the day!

Since it was still chilly out today, I didn’t want to completely open my spring wardrobe. I added a piece of it to my winter attire and was ready to go out! I love how you can only see a peek of the shirt, not giving away the entire thing, since spring hasn’t made its grand entrance yet!

So for a day like today, add pops of spring to your outfit, but don’t give it away too much! Still keep it a little secret for when March 21 arrives! Until next time!

Sweater: Gap (Similar)     Blouse: Nordstrom rack (Similar)   Jeans: Express (In previous posts)

Shoes: Steve Madden (In previous posts)

Valentines Day Outfit Update!

Hi Everyone! Sorry I couldn’t get this up earlier for inspiration, but I thought I would post it now to show you what my fabulous Valentine’s Day look was and to give inspiration for future date night looks!

Instead of going for the typical red or pink look, I thought I’d opt for a different color. I am wearing an adorable mint blue cropped blouse. The skirt is a heavier material with a leather waist and a “scale” looking pattern. But don’t worry it’s not supposed to be a fish pattern or anything. I paired this with plain black tights, and since there was quite a bit of slush, I wore black zip up boots (not shown).

My absolute favorite part about the entire look is my hair and makeup, all done by yours truly! It took not even 45 minutes to get ready, which is actually fantastic compared to other times. If you would like more details on the hair and makeup of this look, please let me know! I’ll be glad to show a tutorial on my typical makeup routine and other date night looks!

I hope all of your Valentine’s days were marvelous! Have a wonderful rest of your night and keep up to date with Navy and Lace! There is more to come this week!

Quote of the Day!

images26T1JIZV

No one is perfect! Those who say they are cannot accept the fact that imperfections exist in the world! Love yourself and who you are! Never let someone bring you down and ruin your day! Stay positive! Life isn’t about achieving perfection; it’s about discovering a path that you want to lead! So many people try to achieve something that in our realities are unattainable. Don’t try to imitate their life because it is not one that we would want to live! Find your own path and love every minute of it! Realize that what you want to achieve is perfect for you, and only you! Relax and think about what is really important in life: family, health, beauty, love and positivity! Those are my philosophies… What are yours?

Stay beautiful and happy no matter what the situation may be. Tomorrow will always bring something new and bright!
