Ripped Denim and Lace

On casual days where I still want to feel and look put together, I combine my two favorite things: ripped denim and a lace shirt. The combination is classic and comfy, yet looks amazing for any occasion.

I’m sporting my favorite Blank NYC dark, ripped denim with a white lace ToSave.com shirt. (Check one of my previous posts on my review of the items I received from them!) I paired the look with a simple khaki jacket and white converse.

Lace shirts are a huge trend for spring and summer. It combines the sexiness of lingerie and the comfiness of a casual cami. To dress the look up, pair a strappy heel and clutch or large tote bag. The look is versatile, simple, and sure to turn heads!

At Home With Me During The Holidays

For many of you who have gotten to know me thus far, I am obsessed with home decor! My passion started just several months ago. Some days I will spend hours in Marshalls, Target, or Homegoods browsing the decor, bedding, or furniture, getting ideas for my room and apartment. Since the holidays are coming up very soon, I wanted to share some of my decor with you!

This was the first year I decorated with a tree! I decided to take the plunge and get a tree, not for the specific holiday or religious purpose, but because I love the warmth and look that they give the entire room. The holidays scream family, and what is better than decorating and getting a tree with your family?!

I got a great deal on a 6ft. tree from Target for $13.50. My theme was gold and bronze to stay neutral and go with the rest of my decor. I got a pack of fifty shatter-proof ornaments. I added on some glitter snowflakes, a few glass individual ones, and some meaningful ornaments like the Eiffel Tower and the “Our First Christmas Ornament” for me and my boyfriend. Instead of lights, I opted to add reflective garland and gold beads from Michael’s craft store, and topped the tree off with a gold, glitter ribbon.

I went on to purchase the white, fuzzy tree skirt from Marshalls, as well as the gold, scented reindeer. Candles have also been a must. If you are looking for reasonable, yet great quality candles, Marshalls and Homegoods will be your place to check out.

I hope this post gave you some decor inspiration!

Easy with Plaid

On days when I’m feeling lazy, I just want to be comfortable and cute! I refuse to wear sweatpants out in public unless absolutely necessary. What’s a girl to do? Throw on a plaid shirt, booties, and a leather jacket, and you are good to go!

I am wearing a long, red and black buffalo plaid button down with pocket. I paired this oversized shirt with a pair of my “heavy duty” black leggings with zip up back. I threw on my black leather jacket and paired the look with some camel booties and a pair of sunglasses.

The look is complete and very easy. The shirt is so comfy and warm! I love how the shirt is boyfriend and oversized, yet still looks feminine. This look is perfect for a girl on the go that wants to look edgy and put together!

So, when you are looking for an outfit for a lazy day, turn to some plaid, and it will surely brighten your day!

Polka Dots On Polka Dots…

I am definitely not one who is afraid to be bold and a little crazy, especially with my fashion. Marilyn Monroe once said, “I’d rather be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” Fashion is about wearing things that make you feel happy, comfortable, and confident. If that means layering on polka dots, then so be it!

I wanted to go for a more comfy, relaxed look. This is perfect if you’re running errands, doing homework, or just feeling lazy! My leggings are very similar to a pair I wore in my previous blog. They are knit with black polka dots. They cut off right at the ankle, which are perfect to wear with boots. I then layered my sweater with the “Pardon my French” logo, which adds a cute silly touch and combined it with a jean jacket for ease and warmth. I finished off the look with my short, spiked boots, a white enamel watch, and my hair pulled half up in a clip.

I am in love with these type of leggings! I love how you can dress them up or down, or even sleep in them! They are the perfect purchase and super cheap!

Change it up and be adventurous! Pair a crazy pair of leggings with a silly sweater and you are ready for any time of day!

Bold Bottoms

Lately, I have been a huge fan of very bold patterns on pants. You saw me sport my camo pants in a previous blog, which I wear religiously. I love pants with a very defined pattern because it’s an easy way to sport a cute outfit and be adventurous!

Trust me, if people are looking at your bold pants, it is a good thing. I am wearing my “artsy” skinny toothpicks that cut off right at the ankle. The reason I say they are artsy is because it looks as though someone painted water colors on my denim. There are multiple designs and patterns, which grace the front and back of my bottoms. I then paired them with an interesting top combo. Peplums are one of my favorite trends, however most of mine are for the summer. What’s a girl to do? I wore my cream, peplum shirt with a zip-up back and layered a royal blue crop sweater over it. The two flow perfectly on my body and are just the right amount of layering to keep me warm. The peplum hem even allows the shirt to have a little shape as it poofs out a bit! I threw on a long necklace (mine has a key) and some short, biker boots with spike detailing.

This outfit took me only five minutes to pick out, and it’s probably one of my favorites so far. I love how the pants are the main statement piece. I feel like nowadays people always focus on wearing a bold top or accessory to make an outfit pop. But with a bold set of bottoms, you can add a little pop to your outfit without doing as everyone else does!

I know some people may be concerned about how the pattern will make them look. Trust me, I completely understand. I am a girl with hips and butt and would always shy away from a patterned pair of pants. I’ve learned that it all depends on the bold pair that you choose. If you are one who is worried about it making you look larger, try wearing a solid color that pops or even a very subtle and simple pattern. It doesn’t have to be over the top, but just enough to be the main focus in your outfit!

So try something new, and wear a bold bottom! You could be surprised at how one pattern may change your life and wardrobe!
