Pop of Aqua

I was eager to get out and about today! The sun was shining, and the weather was actually nice! I have been so busy lately, but I knew today was the day to pick out an especially lovely outfit and blog like never before! My closet is spilling with spring clothes, but I knew one piece had to be worn. It wasn’t a dress or shoe… It was a little pop of aqua!

Today I chose to do a mix of styles. A little boho, with a bright vibrant accessory is perfect for a day like today! I wore an “off the shoulder” tribal print dress with thin spaghetti straps. The fabric is perfect for a hot summer day or a cool afternoon! I wore this with a wide brim hat, some chestnut riding boots, and of course this lovely pop of aqua from Michael Kors! Minimal accessories made this look simple and easy for a nice breezy day! Just hold on to your hats, ladies!

I am absolutely in love with this dress! It’s simple, but adds a 60’s feel to my style! The purse is my absolute fave! Most of the colors in the dress are very mute and neutral, but with the pop of aqua, they stand out even more! A bright cross body bag like this is a must for summer! If you are like me and tend to fill your closet with beiges and blacks, then a colorful bag is a must!

So make sure to add pops of bright hues to your wardrobe! Don’t be drab, be fab! Until next time!

Fun With Color

I have always been a fan of black and white. Looking in my closet, it is the majority of my pieces. However, wearing black and white straight up is plain boring! You have to have fun and use it to your advantage! Add pops of color with big, statement necklaces!

Over the past year, I have discovered an amazing jewelry and clothing company. Leavitt and Co is a close to home company that sells gorgeous and fashionable pieces. Dana Leavitt herself is so chic, and you can tell has fun with all of her jewelry!

I am wearing some of her newer pieces, which can be found at the link below! My favorites would be the the Babs Flower necklace in pink and turquoise. This is a steal at $34. I love how you can wear it with a T-shirt or a loose white blouse. Another fave is the Mint Cameran Necklace. The layers of beads are such a statement piece and would turn any bland outfit into a fun candy-coated explosion. This is also priced at $34. I am also seen wearing the Moxey Statement Necklace, which is such a spin off of a classic old hollywood piece! This is reasonably priced at $36. Each piece may come in different colors, along with matching bracelets or earrings.

Her site is so cute and definitely worth checking out! The J-Crew inspired pieces are perfect for a girl on the budget and on the go!

Jewelry is a necessity for every girl, so check out Leavitt and Co for amazing jewelry and steals! It’s worth it!

Bringin’ (Sexy) Preppy Back

Dressing preppy doesn’t always mean wear J crew and polo shirts. You can look preppy and feel classic and edgy at the same time. My outfit consists of some staple pieces that should be in every girls wardrobe!

I started by pairing some of my favorites dark wash skinny jeans with a jean blouse layered with a soft knit sweater. I specifically chose one with a cute, sassy logo, but you can always choose one that’s a solid color or has stripes. Layering these two pieces took some time to adjust, but I finally set them in a place that was comfortable on my body. I paired this look with a classy beaded necklace that included colors that complimented the rest of the neutral tones. If you do not have a beaded necklace, a big, chunky jeweled necklace would look just as fabulous. To finish off the look, I wore my chestnut, loafer flats with little gold studs along with my red peacoat. This pop of color brought the entire look together, adding a little spice. Of course this look can be rearranged to your liking, but these items are key to anyone’s closet in creating a simple easy look!

Kiss Me: Plum Edition

With winter creeping up on us, my entire wardrobe and beauty products took a drastic turn, including my lip color. I have never been a fan of bold, “in your face” lips, but then I felt the urge to experiment. Being obsessed with burgundy hues and plums, I took a leap and made a major purchase at Sephora. The color known as “crush” by the Sephora brand has graced my lips on many occasions from my Thanksgiving feast to a simple date. This is the one color that compliments my fair skin tone and chocolate locks! Obviously, the shade depends on the tone and complexion of your skin tone, but why not take the leap. This color looks nearly good on everyone, and even if it is not plum, experiment with a little color. You’d be surprised how it can change up your outfit from drab to fab! The color is usually found in every brand, from drug stores to your department store counters. So why not take the leap? Experiment! That’s what makeup is for! You’d be surprised how a little lipstick can go miles when it comes to your confidence! Stand out, be bold, and show a little color! What do you have to lose?

Remember, stay confident, beautiful, intelligent, positive, love always, and live everyday to its fullest!
