Bodycons and Curves

I have recently been obsessed with the look of tight dresses and a curvy body. I’m not talking about the tacky bandage dresses that are short and show too much. I am talking about the sleek, midi-dress style bodycons that have been hitting Instagram and Twitter with a beat face and sexy shoes.

Being on the curvier side myself, nothing is hotter than showing off your butt and hips in a curve hugging (and covering) dress. It’s classy, yet shows just enough that it leaves a little to the imagination. They come in a number of sleeve options and can be bought with a plunging neckline or one that’s a bit more conservative.

I have recently been obsessed with the selection of these dresses in Nordstrom. With their recent anniversary sale, I am sure the selection for fall colors and styles are in abundance and at amazing prices. The two I have in stock in my closet are black and olive green. They are very plain but have little detail here and there such as cinching at the hip or a defined waist line. I like how they are muted neutrals that can be transitioned to any season. I also recommend owning gray, a light blush pink, and even a nude or tan tone. That way they are versatile for every season, and you can change it up by adding a sleeveless trench vest, leather jacket, or even short boots.

Baked EyeShadow Tutorial | BH Cosmetics

I recently purchased some items from BH Cosmetics, and I am officially in love!  It was my first time buying products from their site and at first I was hesitant. The prices seemed too good to be true, so I was not sure what to expect. After using them, I AM OFFICIALLY OBSESSED! Their products are such amazing quality. Not only are you getting an amazing deal, but you are also getting products that work and blend properly. I purchased their Baked and Beautiful palette, which contained some gorgeous and very pigmented shades. They blended well with other shadows and were huge! I’ve never seen such big shadows in a palette! I also purchased some brushes and was amazed at how long I have gone without them. They have changed the way I do my makeup. Receiving the package, I could tell that the company takes pride in their products and packages them with care, ensuring you will be pleased with everything you ordered! I 100% recommend browsing their site and purchasing some of their products! They are life changers!

5 Tips To Healthy Skin This Summer

I have been obsessed with skincare lately, especially since it is summer and I am not afraid to go “bare face” most days! It is super important to take care of and maintain your skin’s natural balance. Here are just a few tips to making sure your skin stays healthy and beautiful!

1.) Eat Healthy and Drink Plenty of Water

I have to say that I struggle with drinking enough water, even in the summer. But try to take a water bottle everywhere you go and a healthy snack! This will keep your energy up and skin glowing.

2.) Moisturize

Your skin can get super dry in the summer, especially from sitting out catching those rays. Make sure to hydrate your skin with a soothing moisturizer. My favorite is the Clean and Clear Morning Burst Gel Moisturizer. (Hint: It smells like cucumber melon… Yummy!)

3.) Wear Sunscreen

I don’t even need to explain this one. Just. Do It.

4.) Make Sure To Remove Your Makeup Properly

Sounds like a lot of work, but it’ll save you the trouble of extra breakouts. I just uploaded a tutorial on how I do it! Go Watch!!

5.) Get Plenty of Rest

Sleep isn’t just good for the body, but it is also good for the mind, soul, and skin! Getting plenty of rest will replenish your skin and prevent dark under eye circles from forming! A good 8 hours is enough!

2014 Prom NECESSITIES!

Prom is just around the corner for many of you pretty ladies, and it is key that you put your best foot forward and prepare for the amazing day! The dress is obviously your duty, but I am here to give you tips and tricks for beauty and hair for the big day! Whether you are doing it yourself or getting it done, these will come in handy for prom or any other formal occasion!

Makeup:

Makeup is key for prom! If you want to self tan, please be my guest and do so, but just know that that is not a replacement for your makeup. Tip number one if you self tan: do not self tan your face! The skin on your face tends to be very sensitive, and this could cause breakouts and just look too unnatural. That is where foundation comes in! Everyone should consider wearing some sort of coverage for prom! Whether it’s a foundation or CC/BB cream, the coverage will give you a flawless appearance and help against any oil or shine! (And if you are really bold, try contouring; it will look amazing in photos!)

Eye makeup is a no brainer, but many don’t even bother thinking about doing lashes! False lashes can look very beautiful and add a nice touch to a gorgeous look! I recommend cutting the falsies to the natural shape of your eye or just placing them at the outer corners! This creates a more natural and long lash look, without being overwhelming or heavy on the eye!

Don’t forget to also choose a beautiful lip color! Whether it’s sheer or bold, try to invest in something that will really make your look pop, and that you could wear again!

**For short dress gals: Sally Hanson has a spray on leg makeup made to help cover up any bruising or scars on your legs! Just make sure you rub it in very well and take time to let it dry! DON’T GET IT ON YOUR DRESS!

Hair:

Hair is also a very crucial part to any prom look! To make it last all day, make sure to use a great hairspray! My go to is the Loreal Elnett! This helps keep my curls in all day, leaving them soft and touchable! Also don’t be afraid to accessorize with your hair! Hair clips and pins are a perfect way to add a little sparkle without going over board!

I hope this helped all of you prom goers this season! My previous beauty and favorites post listed a number of products I use and love, if you’d like to try them! Have an amazing 2014 prom! I know you all will look beautiful.

*Below are some of my favorite prom makeup and hair looks! (Casey Holmes and Nicole Guerriero are the main beauties below! Check them out on Youtube!)

**P.S. If you can’t tell, I am a lover of leaving the hair down for prom! Looks very glamorous!
