As I’ve gotten older, I love going on weekend getaways! Last weekend, I took a trip with my love to New York City! As usual, we saw plenty of sites, ate a lot of incredible food, and shopped (just a little)!
I had a list of things I was dying to do and see! Our first day, we arrived to extremely wet and windy weather. We pretty much just grabbed lunch and dinner and called it a day! If ever you are in the mood for some yummy deep dish pizza, Emmett’s is the place to go! Bill found it because he loves deep dish! The restaurant was small, cozy, and clearly a spot a lot of locals go to! It was a great way to begin the weekend!
On Saturday, the sun was shining, and I couldn’t have been happier! We walked over to Central Park where we had brunch at Tavern on the Green! The food was SO good, not to mention the restaurant was quaint and lovely. After, we enjoyed the Central Park Zoo, which is probably by far my favorite zoo! We continued to walk around the city some more, and of course, whenever I am there, I always need to stop in Topshop. But the highlight was definitely going to Magnolia Bakery by Rockefeller Center. I had been following them forever on Instagram and knew this was a stop that needed to happen. We tried their banana pudding, and it was life changing.
That night, we went to dinner with my uncle and walked around Times Square. This was definitely one of my favorite NYC trips! When we left, I immediately felt the need to go back. And trust me, I am already planning the next weekend there!
For those asking about my pink hat that I wore during the trip, it is from H&M. I’d been looking for that style for a while, but was not a fan of how most of them looked on me. Once I found this one, I knew it was meant to be. You can find a similar one here!

Fitness has become a huge part of my life in the past few years. I remember in high school, I would dread going to the gym, but once I got to college, I found it to be one of the best parts of my day. It is so extremely therapeutic and always lifts my spirits no matter what kind of day I have had. But no gym day is complete without a cute and comfortable outfit. With those fitness New Year resolutions happening, it’s the perfect time to step up your gym style and feel amazing working out! Below are a few pieces that I love!

I love buying and wearing workout clothes in neutral tones. I find they are the most flattering on the body, but also make it easy to mix and match. One of my favorite trends is also anything with an open back, sides, or cool scrappy design. I think it’s fun to show off part of the torso and back while exercising. It adds a trendy and stylish look to a workout outfit, while also being practical and keeping you cool. My biggest tip would also be wearing sports bras and workout tanks WITHOUT padding! The padding can get so uncomfortable and be difficult to wash. Buy apparel without it and sports bras without it! If you need a bit of extra support, invest in a sports bra that is both shapely and has a bit of form to it. That way it’ll keep the girls in place, without adding any extra cleavage.
Have fun with your workout fashion! It’s a time to be comfortable, but also stylish!
As 2017 comes to a close, I can’t even begin to think about how blessed I was this year and what 2018 will hold. With that in mind, I am extremely excited to ring the new year in! Especially in style. Everyone always looks for the perfect sequin dress, which I do indeed love, but I also think there are other ways to dress up in style, without all the sparkle.
Treasure and Bond X Something Navy Satin Tunic
Leith Faux Leather Skirt
Raye Aria Booty
Asos Prosecco Pointed High Heels
Lioness Chancellor Lace Top
AG Farrah Skinny Ankle Denim
Bardot Alex Wrap Dress
House of Harlow 1960 X Revolve Kristian Dress
Faux Fur Jacket
Rhinestone Star Tassel Drop Earrings
Nars Lipstick in Jungle Red
My favorite color lately has been red. The pop adds a beautiful contrast to neutral tones. Adding it to a simple black leather skirt in the form of a satin blouse is not only sophisticated, but also spicy. I’ll be sporting a pair of black denim with a long sleeve blouse, similar to the one above. Pair it with a set of tassel earrings and a cute booty, and you’ll feel comfortable, but formal. For the more traditional mini dress, I am in love with the velvet wrap dress from Revolve. It’s sexy, yet adds that perfect warm feel. To make the outfit pop even more, add a faux fur vest or jacket to cozy up and feel glamorous.
New Years Eve is all about feeling glam and celebrating a new year! Enjoy your night, and I’ll see you in 2018!
While it is still technically fall in New England, this past weekend felt like winter! I had to pull out my winter jacket and quickly transition my wardrobe for the cold weather. I found the perfect combination of pieces in my closet that could easily be made into a winter outfit.

Cranberry is a color that I love in the fall, but have realized looks beautiful in the winter months too. I paired this light, long-sleeve sweater under a fuzzy, black faux-fur vest. I wore a simple pair of stretch, crop denim with my Adidas. I also added this cranberry pom-pom hat for warmth and to match my shirt. In my opinion, I think this color is gorgeous and should be a staple in everyone’s closet and can be paired together for a monochromatic look too. My absolute favorite part of this look happened to be my furry vest. Vests are also a a huge portion of my closet and perfect for the transition from fall to winter. I love taking a simple shirt, like the cranberry one above, and throwing on a fuzzy vest to make the look more complete. I find that it can be perfect for a night out or a casual look for everyday. They are also easy to pair under a winter or wool coat.
A special thanks to Courtney MacDougall for being my amazing photographer! Check out her photography page With My Soul Photography on Facebook and Instagram!
Lately, I’ve been discovering new websites with some amazing fall pieces. I recently found DressLily, an online shop offering the best of women’s and men’s fashion! They have some must-have fall pieces, like the best sweater dresses for sale, comfy tops, and cute denim. Below are a few pieces on my Dresslily wishlist!
Velvet Floral Patter Short Boot
I’m in love with vibrant, patterned boots, and these floral short boots are sexy and can add a pop to any outfit. I’d pair it with a pair of cropped denim and a black turtleneck for an easy-going look.
Color Block Whipstitch Crossbody Bag
I’m obsessed with how this bag is neutral, yet has dramatic detailing when it comes to the thick stitching. It’s the perfect accessory to pop any basic outfit. If you can’t tell already, I’m in love with accessories that take a simple look to the next level.
Striped Embroidery High Low Hem Shirt
Embroidered dress shirts are such a trend this fall! It takes a classic business look and transforms it to everyday chic. Pair it with dark denim and loafers, and you have a mix of everyday and the office.
Flounce Cutout Long Sleeve Plaid Blouse
Gingham isn’t just a pattern for summertime and picnics! It’s perfect pairing the classic pattern with dark denim and flats for an easy weekend or night out for dinner in the fall.
Tribal Print Chain PU Leather Crossbody Bag
Another perfect pop to a basic outfit! This tribal print crossbody can spice up any look. I’d wear it with black leggings and a super long, cream cardigan!

Back-to-school has officially begun, and that means a new year, new style, and new you! I teamed up with Zaful to show you how you can wear some of their cute fall pieces for an awesome back-to-school look!
Top: Zaful Pants: Joe’s Jeans Shoes: Steve Madden Necklace: Zaful Bag: Tory Burch
This was my first time wearing anything of Zaful’s, and I fell in love instantly. Their Loose One Shoulder Sweater falls gracefully off the shoulder and fits slightly baggy to add comfort. I paired it with a pair of plain, cropped dark denim, slides, and their Copper Sequin Choker Necklace. The choker can fit snug or loose around the neck and is durable enough to wear everyday. (It’s also a mock of the Lana Jewelry found at Nordstrom!)
Top: Zaful Pants: Joe’s Jeans Shoes: Halogen
I’m in love with ruffle blouses, and when I saw the Dip Hem Ruffle Stripe Blouse from Zaful, I was so excited. The blouse fits true to size and has two silver button detailing on the shoulder. The ruffles fall perfectly over the chest and goes great with my cropped, dark denim and these black slide loafers. It was an easy, but sophisticated outfit.
I hope this inspired you to check out Zaful for the best back-to-school looks!
If anyone knows me, they know I love a good farmer’s market. It’s my chance to scope out the fresh produce and flowers and look stylish at the same time! Below is a recap of my outfit and day at the Portland Farmer’s Market!
Top: Forever 21 Sunglasses: Loft Necklace: Pretty Poppy (Similar)
Backpack: Steve Madden (Similar) Shorts (Not Shown): Gap (Similar)
On this day, my boyfriend and I were really interested to see what the Portland Farmer’s Market had to offer. They were one of the bigger ones that I have gone to and had so much to buy. From pickles, to fresh fruits and veggies, and the giant sunflowers (my favorite), there was so much to look at.
That day, I wore a simple white off-the-shoulder top with chambray shorts, sunglasses, my little backpack, and a dainty necklace! It was the easiest outfit to sport on a hot day, especially while looking at all the yummy food!
I definitely recommend checking out a local farmer’s market! It’s a great way to spend the day and spot some delicious treats!
